Invisible Moisture
Behind The Walls
What someone can't see is a dangerous thing. While not always damaging to one's health, excess moisture and, in turn, mold can be detrimental to the integrity of whatever the affected structure is. As you can see in the before photo, there are no visible signs of any damage. Unless you keep a moisture reader handy and check regularly, it is doubtful that the everyday Joe could recognize these problems once they arise.
Minor Damage
Although this damage may not look bad, this was in an apartment building where the moisture problem was prevalent throughout the other rooms. Being controlled, the water damage did not get out of hand, but it easily could have. According to FEMA, "..within 24-48 hours of water exposure. Even worse, it will continue to grow until steps are taken to eliminate the source of moisture."
