Flood

Flooding occurs any time of year. Excessive rainfall is most often causes flooding, but why?

The Meriam-Webster Dictionary states that the definition of the word “flood” is “a rising and overflowing of a body of water especially onto normally dry land.” Floods happen when the ground cannot absorb the amount of rainwater. If it continues to rise higher, the water can flood homes, buildings and other structures.

If you live in an area that is highly susceptible to floods, take precautions to avoid potential water damage. Put plastic tarps and sandbags against doors, low windows and the side of the house that is threatened by floods.

Flooding can lead to both water and mold damage. SERVPRO of Chattooga, Dade and West Walker Counties is faster to any size flood disaster and can make it “Like it never even happened.” If you experience a flood, don’t hesitate! Call us, we’re here to help!
